FREE SKATE:::on this crazy tour that is BABY LOVES DISCO rarely do we, the crew, get to “play together” as we each have our own jobs and lives outside of the Disco…..but for a few shining moments yesterday afternoon everyone (even Jill - who’s not pictured here) got to take a few laps before the masses rolled into the Viking Skating Rink in No.Cal for a BLD fundraiser for the United Way
ROLLER-DISCO::we took the magic van 4 hours north of our home-base in Berkeley to do a fundraiser for the United Way up in Redding, Ca. The party was held at the Viking Skating Center - the most gorgeous, old school spot we’ve seen since the 80s. great time had by all - and we got to free skate by our selves before the party even started.
FREEZE DANCIN’ IN BERKELEY::On a random Tuesday in this not-so-random town of Berkeley California we did a fundraiser for La Pena Cultural Center at their spot in South Berkeley. This is a clip of the freeze dance - which, as played out as the freeze dance MIGHT seem, has a fresh new look and feel at BLD thanx to Mister Marc and Miss Gina.
HEY LOOK AT ME - I’M ON TV!!! Yup, the Disco Diaries are back as the show once again hits the road. It’s me, Andy Blackman Hurwitz aka The Disco Daddy, and I’ll be reporting live from the road as we travel the nation in the name of Disco. Stay tuned, and hey, look at me on the BLD big screens - one of the new features we have on tour….i look much better on a photo of me on a tv screen than i do in real life….but hey - thats show biz. MORE H&M WINNERS::okay, so i was so impressed with the last post (see below) felt like throwing these kids up there too. H&M never asks us to do this stuff (they are too cool!) it’s out of total love of their clothes and brand that i wanted to share. This family won the “Family Dance Off” In the Clackamas Mall (Outside of Portland) and this is what they came back with - H&M Head to toe.
H&M MAKEOVER WINNERS::BLD at the Pioneer Place Mall (Portland) was off the hook, and the biggest buzz on the dance floor (always) was the H&M Family Makeover Dance Contest - where the winners get a personal shopper from H&M escorting them through the store and helping them find a “new look”. This Mother Daughter team needed very little help but still SHINED brightly after winning the contest and coming back to the dance floor with their new duds.
SAY HEY CHARLIE:::New tour, new kid, while Samson is home and back to school (wishing he was still on the road), middle brother Charlie takes the poll position to join me, the Disco Daddy, on a short trip to the Pacific Northwest. His smile lit up the whole airport and it’s still on his face now as we speak.
