THIS IS HOW WE DO IT: The ups and downs of this Mom and Pop business. Check out my lovely wife helping me with this crazy festival. This is how we do it!
JUST GOT BACK FROM THE ROAD, SLAMMED IN FACE BY REALITY. Got back from the road and couldn’t stop singing that old PM Dawn Song - Reality Used To Be A Friend of MIne. The Disco Daddy is only human, not everyday can be a skate in the park. Sometimes the return landing is a bit harsh. WELCOME HOME!
WALKING IN OFF THE STREETS IN SAN FRANCISCO::::Sure it’s a kids event (a family event!) but take a walk in to our San Francisco party at Temple SF and tell me - is this party rocking or what?
LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE:::big up to BLD DJ Captain Jack - truly one of the best. Here he holds court on his pimpin’ DJ booth @ Temple San Fran.
BABY LOVES OAKLAND::don’t sleep on O-Town - one of the coolest towns i’ve been to in a while (and cool is defined by the PEOPLE not the PLACES). These photos courtesy of BLD photographer Greg Miller.
ON THE ROAD PART 2::while it sounds romantic to all my friends with kids, “the road” is a grind and it’s a total mind trip - taking you to places both good and bad. Thankfully we travel in this “Big White Spaceship” complete with Wifi, Flat Screens and reclining sleeper seats. On the road, there’s no place like home, and to us, home is this vehicle!
DADDY LOVES COFFEE::one of the most difficult tasks of being on the road is finding GOOD coffee and (bonus points) a cool place to drink that coffee and loiter around on the computer…..here in Berkeley we’ve been blessed by our hotel’s proximity to Yesterday’s Cafe - each cup is hand-pressed (!!!!) and the vibe inside is community, space and great music. Sipping now as we speak….ahhhhhh.
